SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Ningbo Zhongxin Acrylic Fibers shut down its 50,000 tonne/year plant in Zhejiang province on 20 January for maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.
Prior the shutdown, the acrylic fibre (AF) plant in Ningbo was running at half its capacity, the source said.
“The maintenance will last for about 20 days,” the source said.
The company decided to conduct maintenance at the plant at this time since its production margins are being eroded by high cost of feedstock acrylonitrile (ACN), the source said.
The AF plant will be down during the Lunar New Year holidays in China that will kick off on 31 January.
