Malaysia's palm exports fell 9% on 1-25 January

SINGAPORE (ICIS)- Malaysia’s palm oil products were exported lower by 9.44% at 1,032,104 tonnes on 1-25 January, compared with the same period in December 2013, according to cargo surveyor, Intertek Testing Services (ITS).

China continued to be the top importer, at 300,743 tonnes, while the European Union was at second place with 216,911 tonnes, followed by Asia Oceania at 159,440 tonnes.

The benchmark April contract price on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange was at ringgit (M$) 2,590/tonne ($778/tonne) at the market's close on Friday, down from the previous session’s closing price at M$2,604/tonne.
