HOUSTON (ICIS)--US methanol February contracts appeared set to roll on Wednesday as Methanex repeated its previous monthly posting of 190 cents/gal.
Methanol watchers expressed expectations for a rollover last week, mostly because spot barge prices have moved so little in the past month.
US methanol spot barge prices, now at 163-164 cents/gal, still fall within a four cents/gal range that has prevailed since mid-December.
Southern Chemical Corp (SCC) has not posted its February number yet. SCC and Methanex historically have set the contract range with their postings.
