India’s SI Group restarts phenol/acetone unit after overhaul

MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Indian producer SI Group India Ltd (SIGIL) is in the process of restarting its phenol/acetone unit at Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra on Tuesday after completing a turnaround, a company source said.

The operating rate of the plant should reach 100% capacity in a day or two, the source added.

The restart of SIGIL’s plant, which can produce 36,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 20,000 tonnes/year of acetone, was delayed to 4 February from late January, the source said, without providing further details.

SIGIL is a subsidiary of the SI Group in the US.
