LONDON (ICIS)--Equipolymers is due to restart the smaller of its two polyethylene terephthalate (PET) lines in Germany in the week commencing 24 February, after unplanned maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The 160,000 tonne/year unit in Schkopau, Germany, should be down for around 10 days, the source added.
There were no details given as to the reason for the shutdown.
Equipolymers has a second, larger line of 175,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS data.
Equipolymers recently modified a portion of its production capacity at Schkopau, to produce its new PET resin Bisneinex, designed for large bottling applications.
Equipolymers is a fully owned subsidiary of MEGlobal, the joint venture between Dow Chemical and Petrochemical Industries Co (PIC) of Kuwait.
