Europe BPA spot up again as producers exploit trade interruptions

LONDON (ICIS)--Europe bisphenol A (BPA) spot prices have risen for a fourth successive week as European producers take advantage of interruptions in import flows, according to ICIS on Friday.

Plant turnarounds in the Asia-Pacific market have increased prices there and tightened the flow of BPA into Europe, while Russian supply has been intermittent in recent weeks.

“We see that this is now more positive,” said one trader. “Because of the less imported cargo that’s available. This is also a story about [European producers] increasing their margins not only in terms of raw materials.”
