Japan’s Sumitomo to shut EPDM plant in May for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical will shut down its 40,000 tonne/year ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) plant in Chiba prefecture in May for its annual maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

“We will shut down the EPDM plant for about one month in May for maintenance,” the source added.

On 19 February, medium grade EPDM prices were up by $50/tonne from the previous week at $2,450-2,600/tonne CIF (cost, freight and insurance) China, ICIS data showed.
