SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s OCI is now running its two 20,000 tonne/year naphthalene-based phthalic anhydride (PA) lines in Pohang to full capacity, a company source said on Friday.

One of the lines had a turnaround on 2-10 March, and operated at 70% of capacity upon resuming production, the source said.

OCI’s other 20,000 tonne/year naphthalene-based PA line had a turnaround on 4-10 February, the source said.

The company has a third PA facility in Pohang. This 40,000 tonne/year plant, which uses orthoxylene (OX) as feedstock, has been idle since 2011 because of high OX cost.
