HOUSTON (ICIS)--Argentina’s February chemical production declined by 6.7% year on year, industry sources said on Friday.
Production of basic chemical products declined by 10.7% in February compared with the same month of the previous year, said Argentina’s Statistics Institute (INDEC). The institute does not provide tonnage figures for production.
Production of industrial gases increased by 9.7%, the group said.
Production of plastic raw materials and synthetic rubber increased by 3.4%.
Agrochemicals production declined by 19.3% in February, while production of pharmaceutical products declined by 7.6% in February.
Production of detergents, soaps and personal products was unchanged in February compared with the same month of 2013.
Meanwhile, in the plastic products and rubber tyres production section, combined production declined by 8.9% in February.
Rubber tyre production was down by 29.3% in February, while production of plastic products declined by 5.4%, INDEC said.
