SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem has postponed the restart of its 150,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant in Daesan, a company source said on Friday.

The plant is tentatively scheduled to be restarted at the end of April, the source added.

The delay is because LG Chem will be concentrating on producing BPA more for captive and domestic use and reduce its exports to China, the source said.

The plant was taken offline on 15 February and was originally expected to restart at end-March.
