SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Hanwha Chemical restarted its oxo-alcohols plant in Yeosu on 28 March after a scheduled turnaround that started on 2 March, a company source said on Friday.

The unit, which has a nameplate capacity of 110,000 tonnes/year of 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) and 10,000 tonnes/year of n-butanol (NBA), is currently operating at 100%, the source said.

However, the source added that Hanwha Chemical had already sold out of April cargoes and will not be entering the spot market until it builds up sufficient inventory to satisfy its contractual requirements.
