Germany’s BASF plans maintenance of TDI/MDI plants in S Korea

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Germany’s petrochemical giant BASF plans to shut down its toluene di-isocyanate (TDI) and methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) plants in South Korea for annual maintenance next month, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

The company plans to shut down its 160,000 tonne/year TDI plant located in Yeosu from 20 May to 14 June 2014, the source said.

Similarly, the company plans to shut down its 250,000 tonne/year MDI plant at the same site from 20 May to 9 June, the source added.

BASF carried out maintenance at these plants last year in May.
