SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Korea Kumho Petrochemical Co (KKPC) has increased the operating rate of its 560,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant in Ulsan to 85-90% capacity in April, market sources said.
The plant was running at 80-85% capacity in March, market sources said.
Enquiries for SBR have picked up following the rebound in the feedstock butadiene (BD) price, market sources said.
BD spot prices rebounded to $1,250/tonne CFR (cost & freight) NE (northeast) Asia on 28 March, up by $75/tonne from the previous week, ICIS data showed.
KKPC is a major synthetic rubber producer in Asia.
