SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil and Energy shut its aromatics facilities at Chita that includes a reformer, a toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit and a paraxylene (PX) plant late on 3 April due to some technical issues, a source close to the company said on Friday.
The outage is likely to last for a few days, the source said without specifying the exact technical cause.
The facility has a total nameplate capacity of 240,000 tonnes/year of benzene, and 400,000 tonnes/year of PX, the source said.
There will be no impact on benzene customers because of this unplanned shutdown, the source added.
