S Africa's Oiltanking MOGS Saldanha gets permit for new facility

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Oiltanking MOGS Saldanha has received the environmental permit for the construction and operation of a new commercial crude oil blending and storage terminal in Saldanha Bay, South Africa, the company said on Monday.

Oiltanking MOGS Saldanha is a 50:50 joint venture between OTGC, a subsidiary of independent oil storage company Oiltanking (Oiltanking) and MOGS, a company which provides products and services to the mining, oil and gas sectors of sub-Saharan Africa and other parts of the world.

The facility will comprise 12 in-ground concrete tanks with a total capacity of 13.2m barrels, the company said in a statement.

The company did not elaborate on the completion timeline and financial details of the project.
