SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Polytama Propindo’s has no immediate plans to restart its 380,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) unit at Balongan, West Java, because of feedstock issues, a company source said on Thursday.

The unit was shut on 3 April after the company failed to conclude negotiations to secure propylene from feedstock supplier Pertamina, the source said.

The company has yet to fix a timeline to restart the unit, according to the source. The same source earlier said that the shutdown at the PP unit was likely to last about 1-2 weeks.

The plant in October last year underwent a turnaround that was extended to more than two months from the initial month-long schedule as the company could not secure the propylene feedstock from state-owned Pertamina.
