HOUSTON (ICIS)--Oxea has implemented a 100% sales control on all of its oxo intermediates line of products, effective until further notice, according to a document made available on Tuesday.
Oxea did not specify the geographic extent of the sales control. However, the document was issued from the company's US office.
The sales control will be based on the average monthly consumption over the last six months or as allowed by contract, stated the 10 April announcement.
Oxea’s intermediates include oxo-alcohols 2-ethylhexanol, isobutanol, n-butanol and n-propanol; esters isobutyl acetate, n-butyl acetate and n-propyl acetate; and aldehydes isobutyraldehyde, n-butyraldehyde and propionaldehyde.
Oxea plans to start a 30-day maintenance turnaround at its plant in Bay City, Texas, in late April.
In addition to the Bay City plant, Oxea also produces oxo intermediates and derivatives in Oberhausen and Marl in Germany and has an esters plant near Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
