SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s Integrated Refinery Petrochemical Complex (IRPC) earlier this week resumed operations at its 320,000 tonne/year base oils plant in Rayong after shutting the plant for scheduled maintenance in mid-March, said market sources on Wednesday.

The plant was scheduled to restart last week but it was delayed because of technical issues, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, the start-up of IRPC’s plant is expected to alleviate the current tight supply of Group I cargoes in Asia.

However, some market participants said that impact from IRPC’s return would be minimal to the spot market as the company sells more actively on a contractual basis over spot basis.
