Japan’s JSR runs EPDM unit at 100% ahead of turnaround in May

SINGAPORE (ICIS)–Japan’s JSR Corp is running its 36,000 tonne/year ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) plant in Kashima at full rate in April to build up inventories ahead of its turnaround next month, a company source said.

“The plant will shut from mid-May till the end of June for maintenance and we have limited spot availability,” the source said.

EPDM prices for the medium ethylidene norbornene (ENB) grade were at $2,550-2,600/tonne CFR (cost & freight) southeast (SE) Asia on 16 April, ICIS data showed.
