SHANGHAI (ICIS)--Iran-based Jam Petrochemical plans to start up a new 200,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) plant and a 60,000 tonne/year polybutadiene rubber (PBR) plant at Asaluyeh by the end of 2016 or early 2017, a company source said on Friday.

The two new plants would be integrated with its existing petrochemical complex at the same site, which includes a 300,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant and a 300,000 tonne/year HDPE/linear low density PE (HDPE/LLDPE) swing plant, he said.

He was speaking at the sidelines of Chinaplas, a four-day plastics and machinery exhibition in Shanghai, which ends on 26 April.

Its petrochemical complex also includes a 1.32m tonne/year cracker and a 115,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) plant, he added.
