HOUSTON (ICIS)--Fertilizer producer Magnolia Nitrogen Idaho (Magnida) said on Friday that its planned nitrogen plant will produce 2,200 tonnes of ammonia per day and that its air permit for the project was approved by state regulators in late April.
Houston-based Magnida has announced intentions to construct a $1.5bn nitrogen plant in eastern Idaho.
The plant will primarily produce ammonia, which will be used to make urea, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) and diesel exhaust fluid. In addition to the ammonia capacity, the producer said it will have daily production of urea in the mid-2,000 tonne range and approximately 1,500 tonnes of UAN.
Construction of the facility is planned to commence in late 2015 with production anticipated to begin possibly by early 2017.
