HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of mixtures of 2,4- and 2,6-toluene di-isocyanates (TDI) in March 2014 were up by 51% from March 2013, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.

TDI exports in March 2014 increased to 14,385 tonnes from 9,513 tonnes in 2013.

Month on month, exports rose by 15% in March from 12,488 tonnes in February 2014, the ITC said.

Through March, exports increased by 36% to 41,331 tonnes, compared with 30,393 tonnes in the first three months of 2013, according to the ITC.

The increase from 2013 to 2014 was a result of larger volumes being shipped this year to Belgium, Brazil and Nigeria.

Top destinations for US TDI so far in 2014 were Belgium (10,187 tonnes), Brazil (8,195 tonnes), and Mexico (4,695 tonnes), Canada (2,978 tonnes), and Colombia (1,127 tonnes).
