In Algeria, Fertial plans to invest millions of dollars in a new 250,000 tonne/year NPK line at its Annaba plant in the east of the country.

The company, which currently operates a 200,000 tonne/year NPK unit at the facility, expects the extra volume to be sold abroad rather than domestically,

The new NPK unit will use ammonia sourced from $300m of fresh investment aimed at boosting fertilizer capacity at its sites at Annaba and Arzew.

Fertial has yet to finalise or submit plans for any of the new investment, meaning such capacity is unlikely to come online before 2018.
