PATTAYA, Thailand (ICIS)--Iran's Esfahan Petrochemical will not conduct maintenance at its aromatics unit this year, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The unit in Esfahan is able to produce 55,650 tonnes/year of benzene and 71,580 tonnes/year of toluene, the source said on the sidelines of the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC).

“The unit is now running at high rates,” he said.

Esfahan is the sole toluene producer in Iran, and typically has the capacity to export 5,000 tonnes of toluene each month.

APIC is being held in Pattaya, Thailand, from 15-16 May.
