SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea's Samsung Total is operating its 1m tonne/year cracker in Daesan at 100%, a market source familiar with the situation said on Friday.

The cracker operator also plans to raise the use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as part of its feed from the current 10% to 20% of the total feed, while naphtha takes up the remainder, the source added.

Weakening LPG demand has prompted crackers in Asia to consider a greater use of LPG as a cheaper alternative to the petrochemical feedstock naphtha, traders said.
