EU March melamine exports increase 94% - Eurostat

LONDON (ICIS)--EU exports of melamine to the rest of the world in March almost doubled year on year, data from statistics agency Eurostat showed on Wednesday. 

According to the agency, exports increased from 5,235 tonnes in March 2013 to 10,164 tonnes in March 2014, an increase of 94%.

Imports also rose slightly, from 7,430 tonnes to 7,969 tonnes, a growth of just over 7%.

At the end of April, the second-quarter melamine contract price decreased by €25-30/tonne, putting it at €1,300-1,350/tonne free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE), on the back of high availability.
