SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s DSM Nanjing Dongfang has settled its May caprolactam (capro) contract price at yuan (CNY) 17,200/tonne ($2,789/tonne) for flaked material, a company official said on Wednesday.
The settlement on an EXW (ex-works) LC 90 days basis was CNY200/tonne higher compared with its April contract price.
The May contract price was initially nominated at CNY17,200/tonne EXW earlier in the month.
DSM Nanjing raised its May contract nominated price by CNY100/tonne to CNY17,300/tonne in mid May, according to the company source.
The company increased the operating rate of both of its plant to 100% from 80% in early May, the source said. The company's total capro capacity at the two plants is 400,000 tonnes/year.
