SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem will run its aromatics unit in Daesan at 50% during a week-long shutdown for catalyst regeneration, a company source said on Thursday.

“The [shutdown] dates are not finalised yet,” the source said.

Heading into June, LG Chem will continue feeding liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) into the aromatics unit at a 10% ratio to its naphtha feedstock, the source added.

The aromatics unit has a nameplate capacity of 260,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 54,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 36,000 tonnes/year of solvent xylene.
