HOUSTON (ICIS)–The US June benzene contract has settled down by 9 cents/gal at $4.48/gal, following the recent decline in May spot prices, trade sources said on Friday.
The June settlement was down from the May contract price of $4.57/gal, in line with expectations as spot prices had been lower because of improved supply positions brought on by Asian imports.
Trade sources had expected the June benzene contract to settle within a range of $4.46-4.47/gal FOB (free on board).
The decline also represented the fourth consecutive monthly benzene contract drop.
