SINGAPORE(ICIS)--China’s Tosoh (Guangzhou) Chemical Industries restarted its 220,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Guangzhou on 12 June following a brief maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The PVC plant was shut on 9 June for routine maintenance, the source said.

The producer has not given new offers and is taking a wait-and-see stance in the domestic market after the plant’s restart, a market source said.

In light of the supply shortage and high prices of raw material vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), producers have bullish expectations for ethylene-based PVC, the same market source added.
