Lyondell Chemical seeks to hike Q3 prices of BDO and derivatives

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Lyondell Chemical Company announced that, effective 1 July 2014 or as existing contracts permit, it will increase sale prices for North America 1,4 butanediol (BDO) and its derivatives, according to company information received on Wednesday.

The increase for BDO will be 5 cents/lb, and this value is also applied to the price of polytetramethylene ether glycols (PTMEG).

An increase of 4 cents/lb will apply N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), Tetrahydrofuran (THF), 2-Methyl-1,3 Propanediol (MP Diol) and Allyl Alcohol (AA), Lyondell said.

Second quarter (Q2) North American BDO prices in 2014 settled up in the range of 128-133 cents/lb, according to ICIS data.
