SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Lijin Petrochemical is operating its 20,000 tonne/year phthalic anhydride (PA) plant in Dongying, Shandong province, at 50-60% of capacity, following its restart on 18 June, a company source said on Thursday.

“We are currently running the plant at low operating rates and are expecting to achieve on-spec production in 1-2 days,” the source added.

The company had shut the plant on 25 May for regular maintenance, according to the source.

The restart is not expected to lead to a significant increase in PA supply in east China due to the unit's relatively small capacity, a market player said.
