HOUSTON (ICIS)--Although no formal announcement for next month’s polyvinyl chloride (PVC) prices has emerged in Mexico, local sources said on Friday that they are projecting domestic prices to remain flat from June in line with regional dynamics, following the previous rollover from May.
The trend is in line with markets in other Latin American countries, where export, import and domestic prices are likely to remain flat in July, according to input from regional industry participants.
Domestic demand in Mexico has weakened on fiscal restrictions and audits on credit purchases, according to sources.
Pipe-grade PVC domestic prices in Mexico are assessed at $1,100-1,150/tonne DEL (delivered).
Mexichem is the PVC producer in Mexico.
