China DAP/MAP exports up significantly in May year on year

LONDON (ICIS)--Chinese diammonium phosphate (DAP) exports in May were significantly higher than the same month of 2013, according to the latest trade data from China Customs from Global Trade Information Services (GTIS) released this week.

Exports of DAP in May totalled 175,281 tonnes, up from 170,363 tonnes in April and significantly higher than the 43,597 tonnes exported in the in the same month last year, according to data from China Customs,

In the first five months of 2014, 969,295 tonnes of DAP were exported, well ahead of the 260,043 tonnes exported in the same period of 2013.

Meanwhile, monoammonium phosphate (MAP) exports totalled 80,260 tonnes in May, up from 71,720 tonnes in April and again significantly higher than the 20,080 tonnes exported in May 2013. The main destination was Australia with 50,654 tonnes.

In January-May 2014, China exported 425,084 tonnes of MAP, up from the 79,144 tonnes exported during the same period in 2013. The main destination was Brazil with 170,536 tonnes.
