SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Hyundai Cosmo (HC) Petrochemical will keep the operating rates at its Daesan-based reformer at 100% in July despite its downstream paraxylene (PX) no 2 unit being shut, a company source said on Thursday.

The reformer, and its toluene disproportionation (TDP) unit has a total nameplate capacity to produce 120,000 tonnes/year of benzene.

At the same site, a separate benzene unit remained shut with the 800,000 tonne/year No 2 PX plant and hence, the company will remain out of the spot market for July.
