SINGAPORE (ICIS)–China’s Shanghai Petrochemical has restarted its 250,000 tonne/year paraxylene (PX) unit in Shanghai on 8 July, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
The unit was shut
since the middle of March because of squeezed
margins.
In the meantime, the company’s other 600,000 tonne/year PX unit located at the same site was shut on 30 June for scheduled maintenance, the source said.
Maintenance at the 600,000 tonne/year PX unit is expected to last for around one month, the source added.
