SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy is operating its aromatics facility in Muroran at “high rates” on Friday, after restarting in the previous week in early July, a company source said.

The Muroran-based aromatics plant can produce 120,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 150,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 400,000 tonnes/year of isomer-grade xylene (IX), the source said.

The exact operating rates of the aromatics unit were not specified by the source, but it added that the run rates will match the downstream 170,000 tonne/year cumene plant that is currently operating well.
