India’s OMPL targets first benzene loading in early-Aug

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--India’s ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd (OMPL) aims to load its first benzene parcel from its new aromatics plant in Mangalore in early August, a company source said late on Thursday.

The facility, which comprises of 920,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene (PX) and 270,000 tonnes/year of  benzene, is located at the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the source said.

OMPL has already allocated its benzene cargoes to two to three traders on a term basis on FOB (free on board) Mangalore basis at a discount of $20-25/tonne to FOB Korea quotes, the source added.
