HOUSTON (ICIS)--US diammonium phosphate (DAP) exports in May decreased by 43% year on year, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) this week.
US DAP exports fell to 224,546 tonnes from 391,111 in May 2013. Exports were lower during the month mainly because of less demand from India.
Although down year-on-year, the amount of exports in May increased from the 172,710 tonnes in April 2014.
India at 54,997 tonnes was the major destination of US DAP exports, followed by Brazil at 45,600 tonnes and Mexico with 37,937 tonnes.
Other destinations for exports included Peru, Japan, Argentina and Canada.
