SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indonesia's Sorini Agro Asia plans to take off line its 140,000 tonne/year sorbitol plant in the eastern part of Java, near Surabaya port, at the end of July for a brief turnaround, a source familiar with the situation said on Wednesday.

The shutdown will take place for five days, he added.

Meanwhile, the plant is being operated at 90-95% rate, the source said.

Sorbitol is an artificial sweetener with applications in food products and pharmaceuticals.
