MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Indian producer SI Group India Ltd (SIGIL) has shut its phenol/acetone unit at Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra after heavy rainfall caused flooding at the plant site, a company source said on Thursday.
The company plans to restart the plant, which has been off line since 16 July, in the next day or two, the source said.
SIGIL’s plant can produce 36,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 20,000 tonnes/year of acetone.
SIGIL is a subsidiary of the SI Group in the US.
