LONDON (ICIS)--Spain’s IQOXE ethylene oxide (EO) and ethylene glycol (EG) plant is back up and running at full rates following a planned shutdown, a company source said on Friday.

The 100,000 tonne/year EG and 135,000 tonne/year EO facility in Tarragona, Spain, went down for two weeks of planned maintenance at the beginning of July.

In April this year, Cristian Lay paid €16m for La Seda de Barcelona’s (LSB) Spanish EO, EG and downstream polyethylene terephthalate (PET) assets.

LSB’s packaging company APPE is due to receive formal binding offers in late July and early August, with news of a final bidder expected in August/September, according to market sources.
