SINGAPORE (ICIS)–Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) plans to shut its 400,000 tonne/year I4-No 2 gas cracker in Map Ta Phut in late September for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The facility will shut for around 25 days, the source said.

Separately, gas separation units No 5 and No 6, which are operated by PTTGC’s parent firm PTT, will undergo maintenance in August and September, the source said.

This is expected to impact the feedstock supply to PTT’s three gas crackers with a combined nameplate ethylene capacity of 1.86m tonnes/year.
