MELBOURNE (ICIS)--South Korea's Lotte Chemical expects to restart its 50,000 tonne/year glycol ethers plant in Daesan in late August, after shutting it down on 21 July because of mechanical issues, a company source said on Tuesday.

A late-August restart means that the plant will be off line a little longer than the period of one month initially planned by the company.

The lengthy shutdown was necessary because replacement parts have to be delivered from overseas before Lotte’s technicians can begin mechanical repairs, the source previously said.
