HOUSTON (ICIS)--ExxonMobil is seeking to raise prices on a number of products in its Jayflex line of plasticizers, effective 15 August, the company said in an announcement to distributors released on Tuesday.

The producer is looking for 5 cent/lb increase on all branched grades of phthalate plasticizers including diisononyl phthalate (DINP) and diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP), trimellitate plasticizer TINTM, adipate plasticizer DINA and benzoate plasticizer MB-10. ExxonMobil also wants a 3 cent/lb increase on its linear plasticizers L9P, L911P and L11P.

ExxonMobil said that the price increase is a “measured response” for it to recover margins, primarily driven by cost increases in feedstocks propylene, ethylene and orthoxylene (OX), which it uses for its Jayflex series of plasticizers.
