SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) is planning to shut its 100,000 tonne/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant in Mailiao on 15 August for regular maintenance, a company source said on Monday.

The unit, which is now running at full capacity, will be shut for a duration of 20 days, the source said.

Supply for exports is expected to be limited until after the turnaround, as the company is building up stocks to meet domestic orders during this period, the source added.

FPCC is the larger of the two ECH producers in Taiwan in terms of nameplate capacity.
