SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea's Lotte Chemical will shut its Daesan-based aromatics unit on 7 August for catalyst regeneration, a company source said on Tuesday.
“Because of the turnaround, we have to buy benzene,” he said.
The plant will remain off line for eight days, the source said. The shutdown will result in the loss of two cargoes of 3,000 tonnes of benzene each, he added.
The Yeosu-based aromatics plant has a nameplate capacity to produce 240,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 84,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 60,000 tonnes/year of SX.
