HOUSTON (ICIS)--A natural gas pipeline near Henderson, Texas, ruptured when struck by a roadside clearing crew, killing one of the workers, an Enbridge spokesman said on Wednesday.

The 12-inch (30-cm) pipeline, owned by Midcoast Energy Partners, has been shut down since the incident on Tuesday evening, spokesman Graham White said.

The company is working with emergency responders and the Texas Railroad Commission to determine exactly what occurred to cause the incident.

No information was released on what, if any, affect the incident would have on natural gas distribution.
