HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ammonia imports in June 2014 were reduced by 7% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) this week.
US ammonia imports fell to 453,059 tonnes from 486,644 tonnes in June 2013. Imports declined during the month mainly because of decreased product from Trinidad and Tobago.
Although down year-on-year, June imports were slightly higher than the 442,813 tonnes imported in May 2014.
Trinidad & Tobago was the major source of US ammonia imports with 250,971 tonnes, followed by Canada at 82,321 tonnes and Saudi Arabia with 39,927 tonnes.
Other sources included Venezuela, Ukraine and Russia.
