SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) restarted its linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant last week, a company source said on Tuesday. ?xml:namespace>
The 400,000 tonne/year LLDPE plant in Map Ta Phut was shut in end July for maintenance, the source added.
Meanwhile, the Thai producer’s 300,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant is scheduled for a similar maintenance shutdown by the end of August, while and its three high density polyethylene (HDPE) plants – a 300,000 tonne/year unit and two 250,000 tonne/year units – will be running at normal levels.
PTTGC has been offering limited material to domestic and export markets since around July due to tight feedstock ethylene.
